Inclusion in Special Olympics: Empowering
Young People with Disabilities in Sports
We recently held a meaningful discussion on inclusion in the Special Olympics, focusing on how persons with disabilities—especially children—can be meaningfully included in the sports industry from an early age.The session brought together key stakeholders, including Paralympic leaders who are themselves persons with disabilities, as well as representatives from organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).
Through open dialogue, we explored strategies to foster early participation, build accessible opportunities, and promote lifelong engagement in sports for children with disabilities. This event underscores our commitment to nothing about us without us—ensuring that persons with disabilities lead the conversation on their own inclusion.
sensitization and advocacy
on sexual and reproductive health
In this picture, we were conducting sensitization and advocacy on sexual and reproductive health issues for girls and women with disabilities. Among the participants were persons with disabilities of all types.
Livelihood & Skills Development
Under the Livelihood & Skills Development program, we conducted mentorship initiatives and held conversations on various types of disabilities in informal schools in Kibera and Mukuru. The aim of these discussions was to help other children learn more about disabilities and to encourage the schools to better accommodate learners with disabilities.

What We Do
SRHR for Persons with Disabilities
We create safe, inclusive spaces where young people with disabilities can access sexual and reproductive health information and services.
Ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Through survivor-cantered approaches, awareness campaigns, and referral systems, we fight against violence that disproportionately affects women and girls with disabilities.
Disability Rights Advocacy
We train local champions and engage policymakers to ensure inclusive services in health, education, governance, and public life.
Youth Empowerment
Our mentorship and peer education programs help youth with disabilities discover their voice, grow in confidence, and lead change.
Livelihood & Skills Development
We connect persons with disabilities to training, mentorship, and job opportunities—because independence is power.
